Fri. - May 27 - History Class


Refining discussion 

World History (B) 

Objective: Students will be addressing their academic speaking habits, through investigating the concepts of World War I. 

Guided Instruction: 
  • Scoring in a Socratic Smackdown (Day 2)
    • Use What is studied When Debating!
Independent Instruction: 
Collaborative Instruction: Socratic Smack Down:
  • Do Tanks, Poisonous Gases, and Drone Strike equate to War Crimes? (Militarism) 
  • Should individuals be identified by their Ethnicity or Nationality? (Over Zealous Nationalism) 
  • If you had to fight in a War for Germany, would it be WWI or WWII ? (Ultimatum)
  • Should the NATO Alliance be abolished ? (Alliances) 
  • Austria-Hungary & Germany were justified in its actions toward the "Terrorist State" Serbia, just as the United States was justified in Invading Iraq in 2003. 
  • Germany was one of the first countries in the world to design social welfare programs, do these programs help citizens with a safety net or promote helplessness within in the culture. (Industrialization)

Students will investigate their persuasive writing abilities, through examining the Vietnam War.
