Instructor's Thoughts:
Over the past week (and 1/2), students have had one reading to investigate. This reading was discussed Within a Socratic Smackdown Format. There were meaningful points made about WWII America. These points were also connected to the issues our country faces today. Hearing students discuss about what they read, how their family life influences their opinions, and disagreeing with one another is the foundation of both history and living democracy. I truly appreciate the efforts made by all. I'm aware of how difficult it is to speak in a public forum, for our fear of being perceived as inept or misinformed is a habit that is not easily broken, but its critical for us to break that habit for us to develop our ability to inquire. '
After all, The Greek word, Historia simply means inquiry or investigate.
