Week 6 Classroom Reflections

Adaptable Students Wanted...

Last week, students experienced their first series of snow days. In the Midwest, snow days bring out a youthful vibe and carefree attitude and there is nothing more exciting for a young adult to have an impromptu day off. Although this vibe is welcomed and even embraced, its also important to note that the 21st Century student is never too far away from their academic lessons. Over the long weekend (4 days), students were asked to visit History lessons via the class web page.

Just as the maintenance staff prepares sidewalks, steps, and parking lots on snow days, educators would like to see some "Bend" in how students approach their academic responsibilities outside the traditional "school day".

Encouraging this independent flexibility and self-motivation bodes well for student performance in both the short and long term development.
